The High
Commission of Papua New Guinea is currently accredited to India, Bangladesh,
Maldives and Sri Lanka. It plays a key role in promoting and enhancing Papua
New Guinea’s national interests in the countries of accreditation, hence
encouraging trade.
The Mission
therefore has responsibility for representing Papua New Guinea in its bilateral
relations with each of these countries. The Mission also accomplishes a
number of consular functions, including the processing of visa applications for
persons wishing to visit Papua New Guinea; passport issuances and renewals; and
issues relating to the welfare of PNG nationals resident, visiting or studying
in India. The High Commissioner,
